Pixel 11: what to expect from Google's event
Google will hold its annual Made by Google event this Wednesday, August 12, to unveil the new Pixel 11 lineup, the Pixel Watch 5 and, possibly, a Pixel Tag tracker — with comedian Trevor Noah hosting.
What to expect
Leaks point to a new interactive camera bar nicknamed “HiLight”, powered by Gemini, which would add creative controls directly in the capture view. The base and Pro models are expected to arrive with the company’s new Tensor processors.
The evening will also feature appearances by NBA star Stephen Curry and host Alex Cooper, as Google turns the launch into a show.
Pricing and availability
Rumors suggest possible price increases across the lineup, in line with market trends. Initial availability would be concentrated in the US, Japan and major European markets, with a gradual expansion to other regions.
Why it matters
The Pixel remains Google’s card to demonstrate the potential of its AI ecosystem on mobile. Wednesday’s event will define whether the bet on computational photography and Gemini convinces buyers in a market where Apple and Samsung set the pace.
