Dominican sport will have an economic reward worthy of its feat. The Ministry of Sports (Miderec) reported it will allocate an initial amount of RD$132.9 million in incentives for the athletes, coaches and federations that starred in the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.

How it is distributed

The program includes compensation of RD$300,000 for each individual gold medal, RD$150,000 for silver and RD$100,000 for bronze, plus incentives for coaches and sports federations.

The context of the feat

The country closed the regional event with 150 medals (46 gold, 37 silver and 67 bronze), its best historical participation in the event. The incentives add to the infrastructure and preparation investment that sustained the delegation during the Olympic cycle.
