LDF 2026-2027: new era with a revamped format kicks off August 21

A revamped format
The new season arrives with changes to the competition system aimed at making the league more attractive and competitive. The presentation, held at Escenario 360 in Galerías 360, brought together clubs, players and leaders of Dominican soccer.
The gala’s award winners
The ceremony recognized the best players, coaches and referees of the 2025-2026 season and LDF Expansión, and paid tribute to Jorge Rolando Bauger, a pioneer in the development of Dominican soccer. The opening match will feature Moca FC vs. Atlético Vega Real.

Soccer is one of the fastest-growing sports in the Dominican Republic, and the LDF is its professional showcase. A more competitive format and better production are key to attracting audiences, sponsors and, above all, new talent to the national game.
