Netanyahu rejects Trump 15-point plan for Gaza

The Gaza peace plan collided with Israeli reality. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday rejected the 15-point plan announced by US President Donald Trump, reiterating that Israel will not leave the Strip until Hamas fully disarms.

The Israeli stance

“Israel rejects the 15-point document. The IDF will not withdraw until Hamas disarms,” Netanyahu said in a video message at the start of his cabinet meeting. “We are talking about real disarmament, not fictitious,” he added, and said his American allies have some “unacceptable ideas.”

The plan and its conditions

Trump presented the plan on July 30, after a Peace Board agreement for Hamas’s total disarmament, as a path toward the second phase of the ceasefire. Hamas officially accepted the plan, but conditioned its disarmament on a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Strip. Netanyahu, for his part, reiterated that as long as he is prime minister “no Palestinian state will be created.”
