Dominican basketball: silver in the arena and double gold in 3x3

Dominican basketball closed its participation in Santo Domingo 2026 with a full podium. The men’s national team won the silver medal after falling in the final to Puerto Rico (94-75), in a game where Fernando de los Santos shone with 27 points.

The golden double of 3x3

The 3x3 basketball format drove the local crowd wild: both the men’s and women’s branches claimed gold medals, against Venezuela and Puerto Rico respectively. The street format, now an Olympic sport, proved the most successful of the Dominican rim at the Games.
