Dominican Republic beats Panama 5-2 to open the 2026 Caribbean Kids Series

The Dominican Republic’s national youth baseball team started the defense of its crown on the right foot, beating Panama 5-2 in the opening game of the III Caribbean Kids Series in Nayarit, Mexico.

The team, managed by former Major Leaguer Welington Castillo, relied on a strong pitching performance from Yemmy Marrero, who threw five no-hit innings with seven strikeouts. Nolbys Marcos and Daniel Paniagua hit home runs to seal the win.
