Gigantes del Cibao, LNB champions: 4-2 over the Metros

Dominican basketball has a new champion. The Gigantes del Cibao were crowned National Basketball League (LNB) champions by beating the Metros de Santiago 4-2 in the final series.

The “El Fantasma” factor

The series had a central figure: Juan Miguel Suero, “El Fantasma,” led the Gigantes’ attack with 19 points and 8 rebounds in the sixth game, the coronation, played at the Techado Mario Ortega in San Francisco de Macorís. Reinforcement Charles Brown Jr. took the finals MVP.

The Metros de Santiago won two games and kept the series alive, but the Gigantes sealed it 4-2 with authority.
